Zoning

The Planning Department manages the Zoning Code for the City of Laurel. The Zoning Code can be found in Laurel Municipal Code Chapter 17.

Chapter 17 provides specific information on the Zoning Districts within the city, as well as allowable uses, requirements, and signage regulations. Zoning is an important tool that helps local jurisdictions manage growth and development. Zoning guides development so that it does not negatively impact residents and businesses and helps grow the community.  

Planning Department staff are happy to answer any questions or concerns regarding zoning or land use. Staff also work with residents, property owners, and businesses to ensure compliance to the zoning code, and provide the necessary forms and documents to mitigate any land use issues that may arise.
