JOB OPENING

 

The City of Laurel is now accepting applications for the following union positions:

Water Plant Operator I

Compensation for all positions includes excellent benefits, plus a competitive starting hourly wage with an increase after successfully completing a 12-month probationary period;

Water Plant Operator I’s workweek is a rotating shift, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays. Starting wage is $24.52/hour (95% of $25.81). Pre-employment physical and drug screen will be required. Background checks will be performed prior to employment offer. Must be able to obtain a Montana Department of Environmental Quality water treatment certification within one year of start date.

Employee Benefit Package:

The City is a member of the Montana Public Employees Retirement System. The employee pays in .079%  and the employer pays .0897%. The employer potion will raise 1% each year. We also offer a 457 pre-tax retirement plan which is 100% employee paid.

Each union employee receives 40 hours personal time per year (prorated), 15 days’ vacation (can’t use for 6 mo.) and 12 days of Sick (can’t use for 3 mo.). 10 Paid Holidays. Short Term and Long-Term Disability and $650 Flex medical reimbursement. (prorated).

There are four Health Insurance plans to choose from: (Pacific Source)

80/20  $500.00 deductible

80/20  $1000.00 deductible

70/30  $1500.00 deductible

HSA     $3500.00 High deductible Health savings account.

There is a Dental and Vision plan also available.

The City pays 100% of the Employee Health, Dental and Vision which is a $944.05 benefit to the employee. Children and Spouse maybe added for an additional cost.

The City also offers an employer paid Life Insurance policy ($15,000 for full time employees).
