Description:
KLJ Engineering Inc to prepare an updated Water System Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for the prior Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) dated April 2014, to assist in identify water improvement projects.
Updated Water System Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) document will allow the City to apply for TSEP grants. The City can apply in April 2022 for the 2023 legislature for a new water reservoir.
The current reservoir holds 4 million gallons. It is a steel tank from 1964. In the next five to seven years, the City needs to discuss painting the inside. To paint the inside of the reservoir, the reservoir must be drained. Currently, that is impossible to do.
Goal would be to build a second reservoir as the City expands. A second reservoir will become critical as new subdivisions come into the City. The City will need to make sure it has the capacity to handle the additional usage. A new reservoir may assist with water pressure issues in various areas of the City.
Currently, the City uses booster stations to boost water pressure.
Eventually, a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for sewer will need to be reviewed.
