HIRING OVERVIEW


We hire twice per year. The first hiring date will be held on the third week of February. The second hiring date will be held on the third week of August. 

 

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER POSITION


Position Overview

  • Respond to emergency incidents
  • Provide appropriate emergency, rescue, and fire suppression services
  • Perform search and rescue for trapped or injured persons
  • Prepare reports regarding emergency incidents as assigned
  • Operate various types of emergency, rescue, and fire suppression equipment and apparatus
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities, equipment, and apparatus
  • Perform other related job duties and tasks as assigned by upper level supervisory staff

Ability To

  • Work under stress and use good judgment in emergency situations
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Operate specialized emergency communications equipment
  • Analyze problems, identify solutions, and determine consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
  • Sufficiently wear and use all Department issued personal protective equipment
